Linkq / quantum multimedia in receivership
« on: November 11, 2011, 08:07:58 PM »
Hi all,
Received information today that linkq have been placed into voluntary administration, being carried out by Deloittes Australia.
Have been led to believe that they are confirmed to trade until this Wednesday but no decision to trade beyond that has been made at this time - I have been led to believe that they may well be in a position to trade beyond that in the short term..

What impact might the above have on your agency and can anyone offer any other paging service (alerting / notification / messaging) that might be out there aside from GRN infrastructure / services...

Look forward to your feedback / ideas..!?!

Cheers
Shane

Swap your pagers to a answering service that answers 24/7 then sends text message to your mobile.

The largest service in Australia is Alltell

http://www.livephoneanswering-alltel.com.au/

Or buy an internal messaging service like SAAS has such as PageGate. Any staff member from any computer can send a message to a pager or Phone.

Thanks for the info..

At present I am trying to establish whether there are any providers of paging network / infrastructe other than Linkq or GRN...

Am hoping that Linkq continue to trade and provide an existing network...

Mobile phone / sms services have some limitations but having no access to a pager network is a greater inconvenience...!!!  :-D

Cheers
Shane

Xacom do GRN paging.  And of course there's still 3/Hutchison.

Hi All,

it looks like Link's SAFIRE pager login web site is off line last night and still down this morning.  using the Linkq web site is also not responding  but email is still working at this stage.

At this stage (before lunch lest) the email addr was still working with  ####@page.link.com.au
but for how long if the domain name is closed off ?

I believe Safecom is developing a Temp site for web access.  hopefully will hear more soon.

If you had the opportunity to start from scratch and build a messaging / alerting / paging system, what features would you want / have / need..????

Also, what are some of the features that the GRN paging service offer that are underutilised OR that are absolute gems and make things easy..????

Cheers
