QuotePics of medium Pump for NZ, same as CFS and a newstory about the CFS one from Frasers

The CFS model has the 750GPM pump and four outlets, the NZFS appliance only has three outlets and a 500GPM pump, I think there is a few other subtle differences as well.

QuoteIsn't it going to Morphett Vale?
Looks like the name on the side of the truck has been covered up.

So Matt, once you get the new truck sorted, what's to become with "The Dennis"?

mattb

I'm not sure, there was some talk of it going to Brukunga for training on Boosters etc in the high rise, who knows though,

Darcyq

That's not such a bad idea given the money spent on it, and I'd recon it would make a decent training appliance particulary for that role.

Training.....Boosters.....are you sure, doesn't sound like the right fire service....

Sarge

They can always send the Dennis up to us we've got and empty bay it can sit in :)

This style of appliance should be at every urban fringe brigade and large country towns.

The Country Fire Services appliance builds have been sub standard in the past with a greater focus on rural response and the quality assurance of those builds has been well below par with new appliances requiring modifications or repairs not long after brigades receive them if this was the case in the private sector it would be treated differently.

The decision makers in town need to realise that statistically the majority of incidents attended by most urban fringe and large country town brigades are of a rescue or urban response.

Hopefully this appliance is not a one of build and we start to see improvements in appliances. Since the CFS is a volunteer service should it have lesser equipment and training? considering the saving to the community in not having to provide wages?

one would sit nicely in our 24p bay but i doubt that would happen we cant even get that thing replaced

It is a perfect mid range pumper for most towns that need a pumping appliance, I can count on 1 hand those that might need a heavy pumper which I am sure they can purchase as a once off every 20 years, but the Fraser medium pumper is ideal for the vast majority and there should be a LOT more of them, considering they aren't that much more than a 34P!

Noticed that the Dennis appliance is still running (returning from a response to Beach Rd yesterday). What happened to the new appliance ?

Infralog stated waiting secondary manufacturer ADR certification.
The cab/chassis may already be ADR compliant, but any mods due to the build have
to be approved by DTEI (or whatever they are called this week)
