Hi all,

Just wondering how long it takes to obtain SFF & what has to be completed (years & training etc.), and what salary would you be on?

Thanks

Takes 7 years from start of recruit course. About 30 modules of training to complete(approx 3 or 34 a year) theory and practical. Not sure how recognition of prior learning eg: with the CFS etc changes the time frame. Salary approx: $75,000 at moment

You can fast track some of the SDF with prior learning, so long as you have the national courses and the course code. Some from other services or indeed retained have been made up fairly quickly.

The last pay increase from the last EB went up this month as was stated $75,000.

Is all that training expected to be done after work hours or do you get to do some of it on shift time?

You ask that question as tho you think these guys have no downtime at work....

Plenty of time on shift to get all training done, just need to organise with your officer to get practical drills done.

Thanks All,

Was wondering if there was anywhere online that lists the modules of training that is required to obtain SFF.

Also is there a minimum amount of years after joining you would have to complete if you allready had the necessary quals?.

Cheers
