Luckily, fire bans are not based on the temperature alone.  Wind strength has far more of an effect on the FDI, than the temperature.

Despite the high temps, and lowish humidity's, none of the FDI's are Catastrophic, and only predicted to be Extreme, a few are Severe and the rest only very high.

Monday, with the change coming in has the potential to be an interesting fire weather day.....

following taken from BOM 11:45am Forecast - 9/1/10

On Monday, a weak trough will extend over southern coast with a more significant
wind change moving across the West Coast. Very hot conditions and fresh and
gusty northerly winds will develop ahead of this
stronger wind change, then
southerly winds in its wake. The weak trough is not expected to bring milder
conditions to areas other than western and southern coasts. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms are expected in the west, extending over southern coasts during
the afternoon and evening increasing to scattered showers and thunderstorms in
the west of the Northwest Pastoral district.

Also.....

Fire Danger Rating Outlook for Monday:
There is a high likelihood of Catastrophic [100+] Fire Danger occurring on
Monday in western and southern parts. Forecast Fire Danger Ratings for Monday
will be issued at 4:00 pm tomorrow.

I'm staying in town for the whole day tomorrow due to the fire ban cause the likelyhood of a fire call tomorrow is very real if its a code red day
