I see they have changed some minimum entry requirments.

Which are?

Only difference I can see is PAT2 is one chance only, no longer a second chance.

and I do note the website now says:
'It is anticipated that there will not be a call for applications in 2010.'

Good to see they are keeping ppl informed as best they can.

Hey guys.
I've been following this dicussion for a while and thought I should join the site and contribute.
Do you think the people who passed the pat2 recently will still be called up even if a course isn't close on the horizon? It would be disappointing to tick all the boxes only to have to start from scratch again.
Just wondering as I was one of them..
Cheers

Congratulations Mr Citizen, hope you enjoy the best job in the world.  C U on shift.  YA GUNNA LUV IT!!

Only difference is that you must be certified within 12 months prior to application. Only reason for this is that it has been over 12 months since the last recruitment intake. Brings everyone back to an even playing field i guess. As for PAT 2 being a once only, where does it state that? i still read two attempts.

Hi Guys, I've only just become aware of the existence of this site. There are some really discussions here.

Just thought that I would confirm that there is a recruit course starting on the 13th of Sep. I am lucky enough to be one of the people selected which I am stoked about.

on page '2of7' at:
http://www.samfs.sa.gov.au/public/download.jsp?id=1727

it states 'pass/fail' and if fail, application for employment considered unsuccessful

it does say another opportunity will be offered.

There is no limit on number of times you can apply, i know a guy who tried 6 times before getting in. And anyone who has been through the process would know you need a fair amount of luck to get thru, how can 4 or 5 different interview panels compare applicants fairly??
