Rain is coming, Rain is coming, 23/04/2009 onwards
« on: April 22, 2009, 06:19:58 PM »
According to all reports the 'rain is coming'. Along with wind & thunderstorms.

So with many fire bans & some standbys being activated, I thought we could capture where rain falls & any damage caused in one thread.

Rain started falling about 1030am in outer south metro. Raining steady throughout the metro area since.

At about 1600, the wind has become stronger with gusts.

SES website saying 6 jobs as at 1615 today
MFS website stating 34 jobs
CFS website stating 17 jobs

Heard on ABC 891 radio that Seaford High had a HazMat response.

Could possibly be some tidal problems around the Pt Adelaide / St Kilda area later this afternoon as well.

Fantastic if this is enough to build sub-soil moisture. Hopefully they will get followup rains in a few months. What area of the state is this ?

Who has rain water tanks & how much water has been captured in the past few days ?

I only have buckets & eskys along the edge of a garden shed roof (renting the house so I cannot construct a better system). But have captured & stored approx 100 litres.
