Breakin at Bordertown Ambulance Station

(1/3) > >>

SA Firey:
Thieves have broken in and trashed the ambulances and building at Bordertown Station.

As a result the station was unable to respond to an incident and Keith had to be responded.

What were these people thinking....I hope they left some real good DNA and get caught soon....low lifes

bajdas:
I know of sheds where gear has been stolen, but was this just to cause damage ??

I hope the community at Bordertown & surrounds, realise this is volunteers & gets behind them to minimise the impact. Not like some who think 'the repairs are covered by insurance & government' so no real issues.

I hope they support the Police in finding the criminals by providing information.

Unfortunately, the increased security that will inevitably be installed could make things more difficult to 'get out the door in an emergency'.

029:
ambulance stations are now going to a bi lock security alarm open the PA door and then stick you key in the alarm and turn however most crews dont know which stations have them i know of 2.

i also know of a CFS station that was the same push the door in and up at the same time and she would open so higher security would be good

Mod Note: we wont advertise how to get into the station....

rescue5271:
Station security is a big issue for all service's and one that should be delt with at each level.I dont think installing security camera's inside the station is the way to go as there are a number of issues with where the camera may be pointing for example into area's where members are changing. You also need to inform and have signage saying that camera's are in that area, its interesting that some new stations that have  been built will have a security alarm and some wont???

Zippy:
Dont need Camera's at all....Pin code and Sensor Technology should be just enough...and have it set up to have Police Security monitor it.

All they'll do is simultaniously ring several phones to alert ya.

Removes the reliance on the SAGRN Paging system.
