New/different pagers

There are some new (to me!) pagers floating about our group comms department.

Are the grn pagers changing?
They may be the orange pagers referred to in other threads (Link brand, I think).

well i guess the samsung SAGRN pagers dont get made anymore...gotta find a new model to replace them.

Orange pagers would be specifically for the network, Orange (telco).  I think only Leigh Creek and Mylor use them.

Ah yes the Samsung pagers are no longer made bit there is an alternative but someone doesnt want to pay too much for them....sound familiar....and as for pager clips well get used to buying a pouch for your pagers.

How can you use Orange and Link in the same sentence.

Orange is a seperate entity formerly Hutchison Telecoms and Answerpage before that.

The samsung pagers are not the only ones approved for use on the GRN, however the samsung model is the vast majority (99.99% or something) in use.  There will be new pagers at some point in the future, that much is obvious, however at this time there are no plans to change as there are plenty of spares for the samsung model and really the paging side of the GRN has been very successful (with a couple of exceptions eg. Mylor).

PS. there are no problems getting pager clips, go through the proper channels.

They are the old ones little john, I thought the same as you that they were new ones but they must have come out of a deep dark cupboard somewhere
