Hi all,
Just had a phone call from the SES (i know it is just a call centre) asking for donations. Are the SES conducting fundraising activities via the phone at the moment or could this be a scam?
Cheers.

that sounds rather odd...probably a scam...cos firstly theres the Emergency Services Levy then theres a approved methods of fundraising ;)

off topic...what does everyone think of telemarketing/fundraising/walking the streets to get donations? in general lol...yep the indians are driving me mad.

I have not heard of anything like it, maybe SES interstate though ??   :|

I would suggest you give SES SHQ a telephone call on 08 8463 4171 so that they know you have received this.

Many others in SA might be questioning the same thing, but unsure what to do. So hopefully SHQ can do something.

My personal opinion only.

The CFSVA did a telemarketing fundraiser a few years back even though the ESL was in place.

Despite the ESL all emergency services still do not get enough funding.

I have had the same thing before, although from memory, it was donations or advertising for the SES magazine and another time the UFU magazine.
Just my opinion, but I'd like to hear yours!
