Couldn't agree more numbers, it's unacceptable that a tanker and air support weren't sent with the initial dispatch.  No doubt a letter of complaint has already been drafted.

I was just stunned that there was only two rescue resources and one aerial turned out. Where are the Strike Teams when you need them? Move over Gumeracha, here comes the SE Freeway.

What was the problem with that page? Other than probably the Aldgate appliance? Obviously Woodville were COQ at Glen Osmond, then Stirling from the top and Birnside from the bottom.

Just the silliness of the Aldgate and the Burnside appliances...

I can understand dual response in some areas where its only CFS brigades going, but when 10/14 SAMFS are involved is it really that necessary?

There was probably an alarm call somewhere with only a 14 attending..

Not only that, quite clearly the over resourcing of this incident left 58,000 (approx) people without the cover of a pumping appliance. It is just unacceptable. I am going to put forth a motion that all houses have pumping appliance stationed in the garage at all times.

Seeing as it was the up-track, then wouldn't burnside be more approapriate than stirling???
Aldgate was sent as Burnside was tied up at the leabrook fire. Woodville was at glen osmond.

Keep fighting for that response area gilly :P

Any job on the uptrack is no doubt going to have the MFS appliance from 44 there first thats a given. Then either Burnside or Stirling in next. It sort of comes down to anything on the uptrack below the tunnels Stirling don't need to worry about, and anything above the tunnels Burnside don't need to worry about. Vice versa for the down track.

It wasn't meant to turn into a full blown discussion, I was just questioning the usual screwed up EMA response of 4 appliances for a Vehicle Fire...

But the info in BOMS is still a problem...a few weeks ago, five brigades were responded to a smouldering stump in an area burnt earlier in the morning (started from arcing wires I believe).    The same day, one rural brigade, with no BA, was responded to a report of a fire in the ceiling of a building used as a camp for school kids etc.....no other brigades were responded initially. (It was several minutes later before any further brigades were responded).

I would hope that an issue form was lodged....

Pip

Thanks for making me look stupid now Mr. Moderators.

Before the Cut and shut job happened, the discussion was meant to happen over here --> http://www.safirefighter.com/boards/index.php/topic,1679.0.html
