CFS has Hazmat Officers on duty don't they?

They used too , even Fire Cause is done by MFS for CFS area.

Now its mostly just a TAC (Technical Advice Co-ord) you have to ring up.

fire cause is a bit more than that Zippy... MFS/SAPOL tend to both do structural fire cause together, CFS tend to provide "wildfire investigators" however i believe SAPOL also dabble... even then thats not the whole story though... Pip can probably elaborate

btw; also noticed the signs out the front of 20 today too...

Zippy, as far as im aware CFS still has on call HazMat/CBR officers, made up of regional officers/ commanders with a knowledge of hazmat. The TAC is higher level advice from people qualified as industrial chemists, who offer advice specific to the myriad of chemicals (who also advise the MFS when required, as per the 'blue book'). Im not sure what path you are trying to lead people on with your negative ill informed comments. Being from a hazmat brigade i would think you would know more about the structure of mow HazMat incidents are managed. I also cant recall a time when CFS have done structure fire cause in CFS area.

I would think that the union is the firefighters.. eg the union pay for the signs with money that the firies pay from their wages, just like any other union would, eg CFMEU, TWU, AEU, PSA etc..
