blackwood or was it eden hills old pumper

RescueHazmat

Sorry Bill, yes, Eden.  *Brain fade*

mack

Eden Hills old Pumper was originally known as the "Battlestar Gallactica"

apparently becasue it broke the original trends and had quite a few lights... ;)

Pipster

I've always known TTG 34 as Battlestar Galactica...never heard Eden Pumper called that....

Pip
There are three types of people in the world.  Those that watch things happen, those who make things happen, and those who wonder what happened.

RescueHazmat

Yeah, im the opposite.. Always knew of Eden's as the Battlestar not TTG..

Ahh well..

David

When I was at the Gully it was always known as Battlestar, I was told it collected its name when a call for help was placed and out of the smoke and over a hill came this very large and well lit fire truck (back then it was, compared to other vehicles).

Now this may be legend or fact I don't know, it occurred before I joined, but it's a good story anyway.

I do know however, that at it's first re-fit the brigade did consider placing 'BATTLESTAR' above the window, but rather than just doing it they asked permission and it was declined by state HQ.

Had to call it something.  As there were ladies in the brigade at the
time, the preferred names were <ahem> unacceptable...   :-o
