Isnt it about time groups submitted data to Adelaide Fire to ensure an automatic 2nd alarm response to rural fires on TFB days!!!!!!

for example:

MFS: INC # 34 - 27/10/07 10:04,RESPOND GRASS FIRE,DEBNEYS RD,NORTON SUMMIT, MAP 121 H 9,,,NORT00*CFSRES:

MFS: INC # 27 - 27/10/07 08:50,RESPOND GRASS FIRE,GUMERACHA CFS,GUMERACHA, MAP 0 0 0 ,,GUMERACHA TO FORRESTON RD APPROX 3KMS FROM GUMERACHA,GUMA00*CFSRES:

Is it that easy??

I thought that was what SACAD was meant to achieve but present time & infrastructure constraints made it near impossible to collate all that info, so in the mean time MFS operators were encouraged to use the alerts system. I may well be quite wrong though!!

SHQ managed to Respond 3-4 brigades to Grass Fires on Total Fire Bans???

if anything...SOP's have been forgotten.

Pipster

We used to have that data...but in the change over to Adelaide Fire, it seemed to disappear......

I suppose we just have to wait for SACAD...that's meant to save the world
There are three types of people in the world.  Those that watch things happen, those who make things happen, and those who wonder what happened.

SACAD THE SUPER HERO....... :|

bittenyakka

well if that's the case could they hurry it up a little?

And Again... :|

quoting a radio transmission:

""Adelaide Fire to all Appliances on GRN 111 for incident ##...All comms should be on GRN 093 not STATE OPERATIONS 111 over"

Bittenyakka - from my understanding it is easy enough to alter responses to include further brigades... i think the problems they used to mention with BOMS was taht it was difficult to add further locations (im sure someone can clarify that though).

Everyone should just speak to there group comms officers and get it sorted.

Or at the bare minimum - MAKE SURE THE PERSON ACKNOWLEDGING PAGE RESPONDS ADEQAUTE RESOURCES TO MEET SOP!!!!

bittenyakka

ahh that makes it a bit better.

example of a good response...

MFS: INC # 52 - 27/10/07 12:13,RESPOND GRASS FIRE,BOOMERANG CR,ALDGATE, MAP 145 M 12 ,,,STRL42 STRL19 ALDG00 BRDG00 UPST00*CFSRES:

you smokin something there buddy? you cant tell me that piccadilly and carey gully are closer to aldgate than bridgewater. Upper sturt, yeah maybe. But honestly, you would get to the freeway about 60 seconds faster than upper sturt would i reckon, but as you said, it is another matter. :-D

SA Firey

Well its almost 1st November so it would want to be changed by then..... :-o
