True, but a lot of fleet options are quite limited by the budget we're given, though some don't make sense, best we can do is our job with what we have...

The actual fleet might be determined by budget, but the allocation of it seems to be determined by egotism and bias rather than anything tangible like response statistics or risk assessment.  This is not the way a fire service should be run!

You are spot on there. One of my biggest frustrations is seeing brigades that have huge areas and large industrial risks left with ageing outdated appliances, mean while brigades with little area and very few significant risks get new appliances as often as they please. The reasons for this are well concealed but obvious to those in the know.

unfortunately was wasnt at the fire this morning. but the pumper did go by all reports she went great.we really havnt had a good fire in the area to test her abilities yet....

The dennis went to the commercial fire this morn, but didnt get used like i would have liked it to... as we were on the second response, the fire was contained by the time we got there. The BA seats came in handy for our opperators...its great when you can tell the METS guys that you have BA crew donned up ready to go before your crew even get off the truck...

Im surprised happys wern't called for the ICA fire this morning though, as the would be a similar distance as us, and also have an urban pumper...

Isn't that MFS area though? (The ICA job)..

- BA in the seats are extremely handy.. The few seconds it takes for (even a highly trained operator) to throw on a set/ Don once on scene, can be a cricual few seconds.. (or in some unfortunate cases, minutes..)

The bucket of bolts at Woodside is now at stc I think, CFS changed over cab/chassis with original deck, truck is performing ok now, although a new 34 is expected next year, but you all know you only believe it when its in station with your respective brigades name on the side.

Not the old Seaford, i beleive the truck in reference is the region 2 spare, ex McLaren Vale 24.
