How about a section where we can post upcoming events that are going to take place in your brigade OR region?? This could be a great way to take photo's but also a good way to meet some of the members on here..

On Monday 2nd of April there will be a VFBA get together at the Naracoorte showgrounds,BBQ tea at 1830 hrs come along meet members of the vfba region 5 team but also come along and have a chat with the boss. Yes EUAN will be here and would like to talk to and meet many of the region 5 volunteers. RSVP to SAVFBA south east branch, the location is a great spot as that is where we are housing some of the older appliances.

So come on region 5 members come along and enjoy the nite.....

Here are some upcoming events:

We're probably all aware of the World Police and Fire Games by now, but there is also a conference and trade exhibition on 13th - 16th March.

Also some Fire Protection Association events for those interested in changes to fire sprinkler standards, hazmat and the Fire Australia 2007 conference. Deadline for abstracts is April 13. If you're anything like me then at such exhibitions (as well as at stationary suppliers) I'm like a kid in a candy store. Plus it's a fine excuse to go to the Burswood resort in Perth  :-D

There are three types of people in the world.  Those that watch things happen, those who make things happen, and those who wonder what happened.

You're of royal blood Blue?

My my, there are many strings to your bow.

From here on 'Lady Blue'!

I too will be at the field days on Friday. It's not a very big area. Surely it can't be that hard to spot a fellow firey! What if we agreed on a secret method of recognition?

Something discrete. How 'bout walking backwards?

Robert-Robert34

Im gonna be there too  just look out for a safety green hat with an ACRM SA logo printed on it  :-D

Tally ho Sir Littlejohn, I do mean marquee.
I do archery too, so there are also actual strings on my recurve longbow.
Walking backwards it shall be, let the word spread throughout the land.
By decree, Lady Blue.

Ummmm pip the Lucindale Field days is held at Yakka Park which is about the size of the Lakes Village Shopping Centre if not bigger cause theres going to be over 600 stands there

Its like a mini city cause they will have a free bus service which takes people around the field day and drops them off at the stands they want to look at, plus theres motorized gopher hires for people who dont want to walk

There might have been a little irony in that comment Pip. It is only around 5ha or so though. It's just all those damn tents & people they stick on it which makes life difficult.

Pipster

I know how big it is...I have walked around it over the last 4 years... beucase of teh size of the area, and more so , the number of stands, and the number of people, trying to find one person in that space is not an easy task!!
