Condolances to the family of Peter Godfrey who died has a result of a car accident. Peter's car was hit by a high-speed car trying to escape from Police. Peter was on his way to work at the time & thus an innocent bystander.

My sympathy goes to members of Northern Districts SES (Peter's Unit) and Enfield SES (Peter's father is a member). The family have been long-term supporters of volunteering and SES.

It makes you think how quick a tragic accident can happen.....

I would like to express my condolences also.

It is horrific that some low lifes think it is fun to be involved in high speed chases and the innocent bystanders end up as the victims. They should throw the book at these people. If they dont value their own life ...fine but what ebout the other road users..

From the SA SES Volunteers Association for your consideration
-----------------------------
Dear all, the SASESVA has set up a fund for the family of Peter Godfrey who was tragically killed in a vehicle accident on Monday.

Peter was on his way to do an hours overtime to help with the family bills when his car was impacted by a vehicle travelling along South Rd. The details of the incident have been well published through the media.

Many members of the public and also several SES members and units wished to contribute to the family and were asking for a mechanisim to do so. All monies will go directly to the family to help with costs and some interim income support.

Contributions can be made over the counter at any branch of the Community CPS Credit Union. The person depositing needs to put the money in the "Peter Godfrey SES Fund". The Credit Union staff are aware of the arrangement across all branches and only too willing to help.

Several Units have already contributed some of their fundraising and handed the hat around. Thankyou to these units on behalf of the Volunteer Association and Peters family.

Donations can also be made online through  communitycps.com.au
depositing the money into member number 22471124 and account number 03289032

Thankyou again to those who have donated and to those who are considering it.

If there are any queries please do not hesitate in giving me a call on 0417834801

thankyou
